Job Description

The Core Banking Team Lead will oversee the development, implementation, and management of the core banking system to ensure its alignment with the organization’s strategic goals. This role involves leading a team of technical and functional specialists, managing vendor relationships, ensuring system uptime, and driving enhancements to meet business requirements.

1. Leadership & Team Management
Lead a team of technical, functional, and business analysts supporting the core banking platform.
Mentor and provide training to team members to enhance their technical and domain expertise.
Establish clear goals, timelines, and deliverables for the team.
Facilitate effective communication within the team and across departments.

2. System Management & Development
Oversee the implementation, configuration, and maintenance of the core banking system.
Ensure the system meets operational requirements, compliance standards, and security protocols.
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify system improvements and enhancements.
Manage and monitor integration with third-party applications and interfaces.

3. Vendor & Stakeholder Management
Serve as the primary point of contact for core banking system vendors.
Evaluate the vendor’s deliverables and ensure they meet contractual obligations.
Coordinate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Ensure timely communication of system updates, outages, or changes to relevant stakeholders.

4. Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure the core banking system complies with regulatory and organizational standards.
Conduct regular risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate potential issues.
Participate in audits and provide the necessary documentation as required.

5. Performance Monitoring & Reporting
Monitor the performance of the core banking system and address any performance-related issues.
Develop and present regular reports on system performance, issues, and future plans to senior management

Job Requirements

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field.

Experience:

7+ years of experience in core banking system management or a related role.
Proven experience leading technical teams in a financial services or banking environment.
Strong knowledge of core banking platforms (e.g., Temenos T24, Finacle, Flex cube).

Skills:

Strong understanding of banking operations and financial products.
Proficiency in system architecture, integration, and database management.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
Problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
